Q. How long does the initial survey take?
A. Normally the initial survey will take 20-30 minutes, however if your damage is extensive or has affected a number of rooms then this may take longer.
Q. How long will it take for my claim to be approved?
A. Obviously we are in the hands of your insurers on this one, however, we would expect your claim to be approved within 1-2 weeks of the initial survey.
Q. Once my claim is approved, how long until you can start?
A. Subject to the need for specialist materials or a specialist contractor, we would hope to start your works within 14 days of the receipt of your mandate, excess & decorations forms.
Q. How long will the work take?
A. Again, this is dependant on a number of factors i.e. value of claim, drying times, material availability etc, but we will advise you when we agree a start date with you of our anticipated duration.
Q. I would like to alter/add to the approved works, is this possible?
A. Yes, under certain circumstances, any changes and cost implications must be agreed in writing by us & confirmed by you prior to commencement, together with payment in full. Our operatives are not permitted to vary from the agreed work schedule as this will invalidate your guarantee.
Q. What will be covered under my policy?
A. This will be dependant on the level of your cover. Generally your policy will not cover any damage caused as a result of wear & tear or items not specifically damaged during the loss, however, we will be able to advise you during our survey.
Q. What will be expected of me?
A. So that we can get started as soon as we arrive, it is essential that the area that we are to work in and the area leading to the work area are cleared of all furniture, pictures & personal effects, including the contents of wardrobes & kitchen units if necessary. Unfortunately, we are not insured to move these items on your behalf.
Q. What if I have matching items that are not damaged?
A. We will endeavour to locate matching sanitaryware & kitchen units etc wherever possible, however if a match is not possible you may need to discuss this further with your insurers.
Q. What happens when the work is complete?
A. When all of the works have been completed, we will ask you to sign a "Completion Certificate" to confirm your satisfaction, this will commence a guarantee for the works that is underwritten by your insurers. We will then invoice your insurers.
